LIKE MANY OTHER BUSINESSES, WE CONTINUE TO OPERATE WITH FEWER QUALIFIED STAFF MEMBERS THAN WE WOULD LIKE. WE PLACE THE UPMOST IMPORTANCE ON QUALITY MEDICAL CARE FOR YOUR BELOVED PETS. WE KINDLY REQUEST YOUR PATIENCE DURING THESE EXTRAORDINARY TIMES.

Beginning July 1, 2021, we are welcoming clients into the clinic on a limited basis.  PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE CLINIC IF YOU ARE OR A FAMILY MEMBER IS ILL. Please continue to call 760-758-2091 (or text 442-340-1089) to check in from your car, when you arrive. For pets being examined by the doctor, AFTER you have checked in by phone, you will be invited in with your pet for the visit.  FACE MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES WHILE INSIDE THE CLINIC. We are continuing curbside service for all technician appointments (nail trims, etc) and for all food and prescription orders.

We thank you, in advance, for continuing to comply with our protocols.

The following will apply to all visitors to our clinic:

1) Call to make an appointment prior to bringing your pet to be seen for any reason.
2) DO NOT COME TO THE CLINIC IF YOU AND/OR A FAMILY MEMBER ARE ILL. If you have made an appointment and then become ill, please call to cancel.
3) Please wear a face covering at all times while inside the clinic. A MAXIMUM OF TWO PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED IN THE EXAM ROOM FOR YOUR VISIT.
4) WHEN YOU ARRIVE, CALL FROM YOUR CAR. 760-758-2091 (OR TEXT 442-340-1089).  REMAIN IN YOUR VEHICLE (with your pet, if applicable). DO NOT ENTER THE BUILDING UNTIL YOU ARE REQUESTED TO DO SO.  The receptionist will take a medical history and ask you pertinent questions over the phone.  NOTE: If you call and you are asked to hold, say “I’m calling to check in” or hang up and use the texting service. Text check-ins receive priority.
5) If your pet is scheduled for an examination with the doctor, you will be invited inside. If your pet is scheduled for a technician appointment, you will be asked to remain in your car while your pet is taken inside.
6) If you are coming for PRESCRIPTIONS, PET FOOD or other supplies, CALL AHEAD TO HAVE THEM PREPARED. You will be asked for your credit/debit card number when you place your order. Once your order is ready, you will receive a text message from our staff. WE ASK FOR 24 HOUR NOTICE ON ALL PRESCRIPTIONS. However, Prescriptions called in before noon will usually be ready the same day. Prescriptions called in after noon, will likely not be ready until the next business day. (Please allow additional time for controlled substances.) For pet food, please allow at least a two hour prep time.
7) FOR PRESCRIPTION AND FOOD PICK UP. Upon arriving at the clinic, remain in your vehicle. Call or text the clinic (using numbers listed above) to let us know you have arrived and provide us with the color make and model of your vehicle. If you call and you are asked to hold, hang up and use the texting option. (442-340-1089)

We already have a high level sanitation protocol in place for your pet’s protection. For your protection, we our maintaining the original COVID sanitation protocols for all surfaces that come into contact with people, such as door handles, chairs, pens, clipboards, etc.

We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy out there. We have recently updated our clinic visit protocol to reflect increased restrictions as outlined by San Diego County Health Department. Our modified clinic hours are listed at the bottom of this email.
THE FOLLOWING RULES WILL APPLY TO ALL VISITORS TO THE CLINIC
1) Call to make an appointment prior to bringing your pet to be seen for any reason. Unless we are likely to need a urinalysis, have your pet urinate and defecate before leaving the house for your appointment.
2) DO NOT COME TO THE CLINIC IF YOU AND/OR A FAMILY MEMBER ARE ILL. If you have made an appointment and then become ill, please call to cancel. There is no penalty for last minute cancellations.
3) Please wear a face covering as required by San Diego County Health Department.
4) WHEN YOU ARRIVE, CALL FROM YOUR CAR. 760-758-2091. REMAIN IN YOUR VEHICLE (with your pet, if applicable). DO NOT ENTER THE BUILDING. The receptionist will take a medical history and ask you pertinent questions over the phone. We will ask for payment information at this time. Your credit/debit card will be charged and you will receive your invoice via email after your appointment is complete. NOTE: If you call and you are asked to hold, say “I’m calling to check in” (this will eliminate or reduce your hold time.)
5) YOU WILL REMAIN IN YOUR CAR AND YOUR PET WILL BE TAKEN INTO THE CLINIC FOR EXAMINATION/TREATMENT. Dr. Porte will call you to discuss diagnosis and/or recommended diagnostics and treatments.
6) If you are coming for PRESCRIPTIONS, PET FOOD or other supplies, CALL AHEAD TO HAVE THEM PREPARED. You will be asked for your credit/debit card number when you place your order. Once your order is ready, you will receive a text message. Prescriptions called in before noon will be ready the same day. Prescriptions called in after noon, will be ready the next day. 8) NO CHILDREN (UNDER 18) WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE CLINIC FOR ANY REASON.

To All Clients,
Because we are considered an essential service , we plan to remain open during the Coronavirus pandemic.
We are required to follow the state and local mandates requiring social distancing to minimize the risk of infection to our clients and staff.
As with any public place, keep at least a 6 foot distance between you and any other person.
The following rules will apply to all visitors to our clinic.
1) Call to make an appointment prior to bringing your pet to be seen for any reason. Unless we are likely to need a urinalysis, have your pet urinate and defecate before leaving the house for your appointment.
2) Do not come to the clinic if you are ill. If you have made an appointment and then become ill, please call and cancel. There is no penalty for last minute cancellations.
3) Only one person will be allowed to attend the appointment. If you have multiple pets and require an additional person, please explain this when you schedule your appointment.
4) If you are coming for prescriptions, pet food or other supplies, call ahead to have them prepared. Once they are ready, you will receive a text message from our staff. Please allow a minimum of 5 working hours for prescription preparation (24 hours for controlled substances.) For pet food, please allow a 1 hour prep time.
5) Upon arriving at the clinic, REMAIN IN YOUR VEHICLE (with your pet, if applicable) and call the clinic to let us know you have arrived. 760-758-2091. If you call and you are asked to hold, say “I’m calling to check in” (this will eliminate or reduce your hold time.)
You may be asked for your method of payment and credit/debit card number. This will enable us to process your invoice and payment with minimal contact.
6) For appointments, a technician will come out to your vehicle to escort you and your pet directly into the exam room. Remember, only one person is allowed in the clinic. Once in the room, please take a seat and remain seated during your visit unless directed otherwise. Your pet may be taken from the room to our treatment area to minimize human contact. You will be asked to remain in the exam room while you are invoiced and your payment is processed.
7) For prescription and food pick up, you will be given instructions when you call. Only one person is allowed in the clinic for pick up. Our staff will assist in carrying food out, if necessary.
8) We ask that no children attend appointments at this time. If you are unable to leave your child with someone and your pet requires urgent care, please call our office for special instructions.
